2016

On a budget of $175 million, the movie grossed 4364 in the united states and Canada and a total of 966.6 worldwide making it the highest grossing remake ever at the time until Disney's own Beauty and the beast surpassed it the following year.

due to both movies different time periods and ownership they can both be considered mainstream films
