Walter Elias Disney was born December 5 1901. He was an animator, writer voice actor and founded the Disney corporation. he was a pioneer in the american film industry, introducing major development to cartoons. he has been nominated for the most academy awards of all time with a total of 21 wins and 59 nominations

Disney was born in Chicago and as a child he took an interest in drawing, at 18 he took a job as an illustrator 

he later moved to California in the 1920's and started the Disney brothers corporation with his brother Roy. he then set about creating his first cartoon like steamboat willy and Oswald the rabbit and even did the voice work for his flagship character Mickey the mouse who he developed in 1928 becoming his first major success. as Disney grew, Walt Disney became more adventurous, introducing synchronized sounds to his works along with feature length fully colored works and developed the cameras. this resulted in major success like snow White and the seven dwarfs.
