Nordic Noire, also known as Scandinavian noire, is a genre of crime fiction set in the Scandinavian countries. The stories are normally set from a police point of view and tackle dark crimes like murder, kidnapping and rape whilst reflecting tones of racism and misogyny in daily Scandinavian society. The genre is in contrast to the typical English country house murder mystery akin to Sherlock Holmes or Gosford park.

How far do you agree In Long form tv drama, the concept of genres is becoming increasing outdated as producers blend conventions from multiple different areas of media, however, I still believe that genre is relevant in modern media. This can be seen with the  Netflix series Stranger Things where rather than losing the concept of genre all together, have hybridized many genres into its tv show in an attempt to reach a larger audience.
